Fashion designer Nicole Farhi clearly understands the importance of brand synergy, & the dining room below her Bond Street emporium is a perfect match for her boutique upstairs. Rather like Farhi’s clothes, the food is made from good-quality raw materials, elegantly assembled & priced at the upper end of the market: a salad of Bayonne ham, pear, pecorino & spiced walnuts might be followed by grilled halibut with roasted leeks, crispy potatoes & chanterelle mushrooms, with a vanilla cheesecake with mango & passionfuit compote for pud. A bar menu touting the likes of chicken skewers with lemon & herb couscous & yoghurt dressing is on hand for local workers who don’t want anything so formal, while quiet mornings & afternoons make this an excellent spot for a low-key meeting over coffee. Charming, smart waiters & a classy, snappy wine list round things off.
