Square Meal review of Nambu-tei:
It’s easy to see why Nambu-Tei remains one of Baker Street’s best-kept secrets. Hidden away in a strange little shopping arcade round the corner from the tube station, finding this cosy Japanese restaurant is a feat in itself. The effort is worth it, though, with fans applauding ‘some of the best sushi in London’ & a well-honed a la carte menu of savoury delicacies such as teriyaki beef & tempura platters. Sit at the small sushi bar or in the snug dining room, or have a private party in the traditional Japanese dining room downstairs where shoes are banned & tables are at knee height. The lunchtime bento boxes of noodles & rice dishes are highly recommended & are ‘perfect for making colleagues with a miserable sandwich very jealous’.
