Re-launched by its new owners after a warehouse-style makeover, this well-known brand is a worthwhile off-Oxford Street destination. Skilfully made drinks are served with a side of soul, while funk house and garage come courtesy of DJs who normally play at hot spots such as Mahiki and Bunga Bunga. Choose from a selection of classic cocktails or strike it lucky with signature mixes such as wild tea martini, King Kong Collins and moresanko – a highball that shakes absinthe, Galliano and Grand Marnier with lime, mint, apple juice and almond syrup. Groups might share a £50 gin and berry bloodhound (one of various punch bowls on offer), wines start below £20, and beers for brand-conscious boys cost a fiver. Eats range from Asian/Med sharing platters to hot dogs, jerk chicken, fish and chips, veggie pasta dishes and salads.
