This snug, darkened cubbyhole is the perfect anteroom to Dinner by Heston B, as well as a smashing watering hole in its own right. A three-sided bar – backed by a frosted-glass, backlit wall of bottles – dominates the room, & drinkers hole up here or sprawl on comfy leather sofas to soak up the all-pervading ‘cool’ of the place. A hefty cocktail list spans the globe (or at least a luxury-hotel version of it): try a delicious HK cup (Pimm’s, Hendrick’s gin, ginger ale & rhubarb bitters, garnished with fruit) from Hong Kong, or a Mandarin mule (vanilla-infused rum, orange liqueur, lime, peppermint & ginger beer). Beware the dizzying prices, & go easy on the sugared nuts & nibbles such as ‘fire-cracker’ prawns with pineapple & coriander if you’re heading for one of the hotel’s gastronomic hotspots.
