This subterranean Davy’s outpost may be located in the rag trade district north of Oxford Street but it’s not really the sort of proposition to set fashionista pulses racing. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it seems to be the thinking here. And while its traditional 19th-century styling might have a fashion moment should Galliano go Victorian with his Autumn/Winter collection, to its faithful clientele of W1 business folk, the likes of comfort food (sandwiches, sharing plates) & Davy’s good-value, own-label wines (Tempranillo at £16.25) will never go out of style.
