Square Meal review of Konaki:
This longstanding Greek restaurant near the British Museum continues to charm local workers with its old-school service & fine Hellenic cooking at knock-down prices. Classic mezze such as hoummos, taramasalata & tzatziki, & charcoal-grilled fish & meat are executed with aplomb, but dig a bit deeper & there are some more exciting flavours to be found. Prawn saganaki sees the crustacean fried in a red wine sauce with feta cheese, while for the main course there are courgettes stuffed with minced lamb, rice & herbs in egg & lemon sauce, or hearty baked lamb with tomato sauce & Greek pasta. There are veggie dishes aplenty, good set-lunch deals & even the odd decent Greek bottle on the wine list.
