Surprisingly, this basement eatery below Joseph’s clothes store is no great shakes in the looks department, opting for a yawn-inducing, style-by-numbers mix of white walls & tablecloths, black leatherette banquettes, wooden flooring & mirrors. But despite so much blah, it remains a popular daytime drop-in for leathery-tanned glamour pusses & fashionable metrosexuals. A menu of pastas, salads & a few more elaborate dishes – including decent desserts such as lime, mango & ginger brûlée tart – staves off hunger pangs, & daily specials such as sea bass with French fries & salad or farfalle with chicken, mushrooms, olives, baby spinach, sun-dried tomatoes & pesto provide variety. Staff are quite charmless, so you may want to move on quickly. Note: open shop hours only.
