Vibrant abstract art adds a little decorative zip to the characteristic pale green colour scheme at this bright Jamies on the City’s eastern fringe, where vast windows offer grandstand views of the passing scene. At lunchtime the boards, sandwiches & salads are supplemented by substantial mains spanning everything from chicken with couscous & tzatziki to a spicy bean burger in a sourdough bun, served with chunky chips & coleslaw; the evening menu is shorter, dispensing with sandwiches but retaining a few hot items alongside lighter fare. Lubrication comes in the shape of a long & admirably clear wine list, which is set out by grape variety & style; expect a few esoteric names alongside the more familiar Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon. Jamies continues to champion good rosé, too.
