The leafy location in Finsbury Circus Gardens & the grandstand view over the bowling green make this one of the most relaxed & distinctive bars within The Food and Drink Group Plc. There’s also a smart little basement dining room, hung with bright modern art to compensate for the lack of views. The food is straightforward both upstairs & down, with starters such as a Dublin Bay prawn cocktail or chicken liver pate & mains including a Thai green chicken curry or Guinness beef burger on a sourdough bun. A selection of cured & smoked meats & fishes, large or small boards & – in the bar only – club sandwiches & baguettes are on hand if you don’t want anything so formal, washed down with food-friendly wines.
