Not as swanky as the new Notting Hill flagship, the Wardour Street branch of this decent sushi chain operates as both takeaway outlet (selling grab-&-go bento boxes & wheatgrass shots to local workers) & a modish conveyor-belt sushi joint with seats for solo diners & comfy booths for small groups. The menu is as fashion-conscious as the decor, with favourites of hearty chicken & coconut soup or Nobu-esque new-style sashimi (lightly seared & drizzled with sesame oil) joined by an ever-changing list of new dishes: langoustine & crab gyoza in a broth packed with shiitake & rice noodles, say. Service is upbeat, & there’s a decent list of exotic cocktails if you want to make a night of it.
