Just minutes away from Great Portland Street tube station, this small, cosy Turkish joint is well worth a look in. Not just because of prices that are astonishing for central London (£8.90/£11.90 for a two-course set lunch or dinner), but also because the food is always tasty & filling. Hot mezze include filo pastry filled with spinach & feta, grilled haloumi cheese, & spicy sausages, while kebabs (chicken, lamb or swordfish & prawn) cooked over the charcoal grill come with rice & salad & there’s the odd more unusual dish such as aubergine stuffed with lamb, tomato & onion to suit more eclectic tastes. On Friday & Saturday nights there’s live Turkish music.
