The austere interior of this small modern bistro, away from Greenwich’s main drag, showcases the food of owner Guy Awford & head chef Brian Sargeant. The results are generally successful, although there are reports of long delays between courses. The daily changing menu of seasonal dishes isn’t wildly inventive, but that’s not the point. Instead, you’ll find pitch-perfect renditions of bistro classics such as mussels with cream, wine & tomatoes, truffled chicken-liver pâté with toasted brioche, or Welsh lamb rump with Madeira jus. There are also forays into Asian cuisine: Thai-spiced chicken & coconut spring rolls, perhaps. Good-value set menus attract lunchtime, midweek & early-evening diners. Awford also owns the nearby Guildford Arms, which has a more relaxed vibe.
