This charming French brasserie, with its handsome bar & pretty mosaics underfoot, is a popular spot for pre- & post-theatre drinks. But nowadays you’ll see significantly fewer diners sitting in its smartly furnished dining room, with reports of slipping standards in the kitchen leading to patchy custom. Dishes sound appealing – grilled mackerel with beetroot, white bean soup with truffle oil or roast spatchcock quail with celeriac puree – but execution is inconsistent &, too often, deemed ‘disappointing’.
