Located opposite South Ken’s museum strip, Hugo’s is convenient for post-exhibition bites, but it also scores highly with local workers. The bare surrounds – think chunky wooden tables & white walls hung with arty photographic prints – make it a noisy space, while smells from the open grill fill the buzzing dining room. Championing organic produce, the menu offers good, hearty fare from burgers, & grilled pork chops with apple chutney, to salmon & haddock fishcakes. The brunch menu (featuring a cracking eggs Benedict) is served until 5pm, while early evening jazz on Sundays is an added incentive to visit.
