Not much changes at the original branch of Hard Rock. OK, Jon Bon Jovi’s hair got straighter, & old hands now bring their grandchildren, but you still sit here to inhale the essence of real ‘rawk’ relics, resonate to the loud (often live) music & absorb highly calorific fast food untarnished by snobbish fads. Starters include Joe Perry’s ‘Rock Your World’ quesadillas, Hard Rock nachos & Tupelo chicken tenders with ‘Heavy Metal’ sauce. Then there’s grilled sirloin steak with Merlot garlic butter, marinated Hawaiian chicken topped with pineapple & green onions, or wild Alaskan sockeye salmon – again anointed with Merlot garlic butter. Ribs are popular, smoked in-house & partnered by fries, ranch beans & coleslaw; 10 kinds of burger are cooked medium-to-well, unless you ask otherwise. Drink thick malt shakes, a ‘keeper’ cocktail (the glass is yours to take home) or a Lovely Rita margarita. Tourists rather like it here.
