The simple, clean modern decor at Gulshan is saved from austerity by the historic setting & compact premises, with the result that the restaurant is cut up into several small dining areas – great for discreet but informal business lunches, so long as you don’t sit in the huge windows. The menu includes both the familiar & the more interesting, such as a fish khatta with roast ground mustard, tomato & garlic or the chef’s speciality of chicken sagrana with cream & spices. Wines range from a £13.50 white Rioja from Bodegas Montecillo right up to a Cristal Brut for those with something to celebrate.
