The charmingly old-fashioned interior looks very much as it did when The Guinea opened in 1952 & attracts a lively, suited crowd who come here for quality steaks, mixed grills &, especially, the award-winning pies that the kitchen is famous for: steak & kidney, & steak & mushroom. The small dining room has a cosy, homely atmosphere while there’s a delightful private room upstairs. Staff dress the retro part in white shirts & bow-ties while the wine list is, as you’d expect, Old World dominated. A bustling pub area at the front adds further appeal & encourages diners to linger long after their plates have been cleared.
