Savile Row suits and Churchill shoes are the dress code of choice at this sibling of Green's in the City, where Mayfair's wheelers and dealers come to feed on seafood platters with soda bread, plates of smoked salmon and grilled halibut with hollandaise. Fish cookery of the old school is the thing here, but you can also satisfy any red-blooded cravings with venison stew or a grilled rib-eye with all the trimmings. Cocooned leather booths and stools at the wraparound bar are in perfect tune with the rather staid, chummy mood of the place, which might seem out of sync with some of the neighbourhood's rakish young pretenders. Pre-theatre menus (£28.50) are a bonus for those on their way to a show, and the wine list offers some surprisingly contemporary numbers among its clarets and Burgundies.
