Square Meal review of The George Inn:
London used to be full of galleried coaching inns, but The George is the only survivor of a great tradition – a fact that’s given it National Trust status. Sadly, its historic appeal is only skin deep. Its unsympathetic interior decoration makes it appear both cluttered & drab, so sit in the courtyard kept warm in winter by environmentally unfriendly patio heaters. The beers include Greene King, Abbott & various guest ales, & there’s a short wine list. Food is uncomplicated, unfussy pub grub.
