Square Meal review of Fuego:
Big, glossy & dramatic, this sprawling basement tapas bar is long on Latin flamboyance. Perch at one of the granite-topped counters or settle into the pretty & more comfortable formal dining area. Flamboyance doesn’t extend to the shortish & simple-ish menu, but the albondigas (meatballs) are plump & flavoursome & served in a rich tomato sauce. Whitebait are crisp & hot, the sauce on the patatas bravas is fiery & portions are generous. The wine list isn’t long but is mostly Hispanic & pitched more at hedonistic post-work thirst quenching than quiet oenophile contemplation. House wines are astonishingly cheap by City standards, though selection by the glass is pretty limited.
