With worn wooden floors, shabby-chic seating & an appealing menu of hearty comfort grub, this large modern gastropub just north of Blackfriars station is justifiably popular. Depending on your mood or time constraints, choose between chunky sandwiches & straightforward pasta or the slightly more refined likes of bacon-wrapped haddock with mash. Wines, beers & cocktail lists, though unexceptional, tick all the boxes & there’s always a salad for the weight-watchers.
