Square Meal review of The Eagle:
The gastropub that started it all shows no signs of slowing or slacking. It still packs ’em in for both lunch & dinner & the busy open kitchen continues to churn out nifty Mediterranean cooking without so much as hinting at complacency. With hearty starters like minestrone soup or linguine with pesto leading on to copious main servings of sausages & lentils or sea bass with turnips & aioli, you need to come with an appetite, especially when there’s freshly-baked custard tart for afters. A great little wine list with plenty of by-the-glass options is complemented by a wide range of lagers & ales.
