The Depot Brasserie

With the leafy expanses of Chiswick on the opposite bank & Barnes Bridge framing the picture at one end, The Depot’s window tables provide one of the best views of the Thames in London. Given the exterior, the interior hardly matters, but it’s an attractive space, with lots of wood & polish. The eclectic menu suits yummy mummies & ladies who lunch during the daytimes & romantic couples & small-group celebrations at night. The food, from pork dim sum with shiitake broth & pasta with wild mushrooms & broad beans to fishcakes & sausage & mash, won’t win any prizes for authenticity, but it’s nicely presented & served with a smile. Add a decent, comfortable bar & you basically have the perfect local, especially in the evenings & at weekends when you can park outside.
