Square Meal review of Cross Keys:
It may be fronted by a somewhat gloomy bar, done out with flagstone floors & uncomfortable chairs, but the Cross Keys is a Chelsea institution that attracts scores of locals, & hence a bright ambience. Its main attraction is the conservatory dining room, where a fresh cream decor centres round a large potted tree. The menu trots around the globe delivering the likes of exotic king prawn & shiitake skewers, simple grilled lamb cutlets with potatoes dauphinois, & profiteroles with chocolate sauce for dessert. There’s a good private room, popular with larger parties.
