The hard surfaces & cool industrial look of this modestly sized outpost of Corney & Barrow are entirely appropriate to its location at the foot of the Lloyd’s Building. But there’s nothing cold about the welcome & the sunken outdoor terrace is a welcome retreat from the City’s noise in summer. Indoors or out, it’s a strategic spot for a light lunch: hot or cold sandwiches, a Caesar salad, or perhaps an asparagus & marinated artichoke salad. There are lighter bites in the evening – tempura prawns, wasabi peanuts & the like – & plenty of affordable quaffing by the bottle & large or small glass.
