Designed for general enjoyment, the CityPoint branch of Corney & Barrow forgoes corporate slickness in favour of a bright & breezy feel, with plenty of outdoor seating when mercury rises. Breakfast starts the day, & the seasonal menu features a mix of Med- & Brit-themed dishes: you might nibble a platter of grilled haloumi, marinated artichoke hearts, olives & tomatoes on warm focaccia, play it straight with a hand-carved gammon sandwich or fill up with thyme-marinated roast Norfolk chicken. The excellent C&B drinks list includes an enormous choice by the glass, with wines organised by grape variety & some really useful tasting notes that leave you in no doubt of what you’re ordering – a feature that some other oenophile bars would benefit from.
