Not only the vintage jewel in Corney & Barrow’s crown, but also a standout destination in its own right, this commanding & deliciously curvaceous bar overlooking Broadgate Circle laughs in the face of austerity with its ‘frothy & glossy’ vibe, moneyed air & sharp-suited clientele. If you fancy playing Nero away from the Circle’s gladiatorial goings-on, there’s a glut of big-name Champagnes to guzzle, including Cristal, Krug & no fewer than five rosés. The wine list is organised by grape & peppered with witty tasting notes for any occasion – ‘pre-train tipples’, ‘deal-clinchers’, ‘pay-day tipple specials’ & so on. Meanwhile, the food is an ecumenical roster of comfort dishes, taking in the likes of cottage pie, ploughman’s, burgers & sharing platters. Staff are a ‘friendly bunch’, affirms one satisfied customer.

    I think I can safely say I had the best Nicoise salad of my life in this bar!!! The tuna was cooked to perfection (rare, the way it should be) the whole thing was a delight! I went with a girlfriend for lunch on a Wednesday –although they were quote busy the service was great, they could tell that we were in a hurry and catered to our every needs. Such a great, friendly bunch of staff. I will certainly be going again soon!

    Vile. Walked in the bar tonight to get assaulted (yes actually hit) by some idiot. Complained and apparently as he's ‘a local’ and noramlly well behaved it's fine that he did that. Of course his friends defended him and apparently I pushed him – all I did was try to squeeze past the fat, arrogrant & ignorant moron. The staff practically agreed with me but did not have the guts to kick him out.

    Absolutely love this bar, ideal location and friendly staff.

    Food is always good, especially the BBQ food.
