With just six jade-green booths, Tom Conran’s diminutive diner is straight out of central casting. Chunky white coffee mugs? Check. Metal napkin dispensers? Check. Neon signs? Check. Freewheeling stateside vibes? Check. If it weren’t for the prices, Lucky Seven would be a perfect facsimile of its US cousins. Still, there’s plenty to like about a place that serves breakfast until 5pm, along with fabulously juicy Aberdeen Angus burgers, & shakes in a choice of regular, thick & extra-thick. You won’t find fancy Italian cappuccinos & lattes here, just ‘regular cwoffee’ served in a bottomless cup. Team it with a breakfast burrito or a stack of buttermilk pancakes, & you can keep going until nightfall. Imported American beers add to the authenticity, as does another diner favourite: the root beer float.
