Square Meal review of The Collection:

Perhaps The Collection gets its name from its mishmash of furniture: an eclectic mix of artefacts from around the world that, like the catwalk-style entrance & big screens tuned to Fashion TV, could be considered a bit lacking in taste. But it’s rare to see the barn-like premises empty, as after-work crowds & weekend party animals pile in for cocktails in the vast bar area downstairs. The menu in the mezzanine-level restaurant offers a global assault on cuisine, listing anything from foie gras with spring onion & seaweed sauce through wild mushroom & baby spinach risotto to Punjabi chicken curry, with caramel pear tart & nougat ice-cream for a sweet finish. Execution used to be flawless but this year’s reports on food have been a bit more hit & miss. Still, it’s a brilliant venue for large groups.
