This popular older sibling of The Chancery set the template for its junior partner, so expect technically adroit, imaginative cooking in an urbane setting. Food is modern Franco-Italian with knowledgeable nods to Asia (think tempura, wasabi & bok choy) &, while meat is a particular strong point, seafood lovers always do well. Away from the briny, you might get something like lamb rump with tagliatelle, pea veloute, artichokes & a tomato & herb jus, while classic desserts with contemporary twists round off meals in style. Attentive staff win plaudits from power-lunchers & social diners alike & there’s a nice upstairs space for private parties. Don’t be put off by the dark entrance: a strategically placed, funky skylight brightens up the dining room.
