The ‘Proper Lumpy’, as willowy Voguettes refer to this huntin’, shootin’ & fishin’-themed candlelit cellar wine bar across the square from their offices on Hanover Square, is brought to you by the Davy’s group. Fashionistas are unlikely to be wolfing down the heartier comfort food (bangers & mash with onion gravy) or puds (treacle tart with clotted cream) on offer at lunchtime, but poached salmon or chicken Caesar salad won’t instantly make you go up a dress size, so why not go for that second glass of Meursault 1er Cru or Cloudy Bay Sauvignon? Lower down the price range, Davy’s own label cepages are available by the glass: Muscadet is one of the least calorific wines there is &, according to Parisiennes, it helps diminish cellulite.
