Despite the international flavour of London’s restaurant scene, Malaysian restaurants are few & far between. Despite the grim location, this is a good place to try Malaysian food, with a set menu offering a range of flavours that reflect the diversity of the country & its cuisine. You might start with a Sarawak tribal ceviche or frogs’ legs glazed with honey & black sesame seeds, served with a side of orange chutney. Play it safe with a main of beef red curry or push the boat out with a seafood stew in a kaffir lime broth with a poached egg. Desserts are left-field – green-tea jelly is topped with a coconut custard & accompanied by warm pineapple. The eastern decor is predictable but enhances the warm atmosphere & service is ‘professional, with a personal touch’.
