Caraffini continues to thrive. Most regulars have been eating here for years, the charismatic staff know their customers by name & everything the restaurant does is tried & tested, so diners can’t really go wrong. The cooking is always based on traditional, safe recipes – think grilled sardines, linguine with clams & veal alla milanese – & the surrounds are slightly dated, but for old-school charm it cannot be beaten. The roadside alfresco is a noisy, but popular, spot in summer.
