The glamour has dissipated from this former hot-spot: a gorgeous-looking, semi-famous clientele has given way to after-work office boys & girls, still stylish & good looking but lacking the pizzazz of yore. Even without its fashionable crowd, the Bush remains an attractive if somewhat ‘overlit’ bar & restaurant, with coloured seating & wall hangings breaking up the white warehouse space. There’s a great range of around 50 cocktails around the £6.75 mark, a globetrotting wine list, with half-a-dozen by-the-glass, & undemanding but well-prepared comfort food, such as the wild boar & apple sausages with thyme jus, a generous chicken Caesar salad & the char-grilled rib-eye steak with bearnaise sauce & chips. Pizzas from a wood-fired oven are a new addition. ‘Friendly’ & efficient staff complete the package.
