Offering the same affordable food & stylish surrounds typical of the ubiquitous chain, this outpost gets an added boost from its grand location: the former Westminster County Courts. The opulent stone facade makes an impressive entrance into a sizeable bar area, popular for after-work drinks. The menu is a mix of British classics (battered haddock, steak & Guinness pie, sticky toffee pudding) along with more eclectic dishes (pan-fried king prawns with chilli & garlic, duck confit with sweet cherries), with a diverse international wine selection. Popular for private functions, the former courtrooms upstairs feature the original judges’ benches in situ (a judge’s costume can also be rented to liven up the proceedings).
