Square Meal review of Brasserie St Quentin:
This 25-year-old brasserie certainly doesn’t look its age, sparkling with mirrors on the walls & starched napery on the tables. Menus gather flavours from all over Europe, taking in a few Asian influences along the way. So while shallot & goats’ cheese tart & steak bearnaise with great thin-cut chips still take centre stage, there’s also roast halibut with baby leeks, lemongrass & ginger broth, & breast of chicken with chorizo, potatoes & lemon & thyme jus. Service is generally polished, prices normal for Knightsbridge & the concise global wine list has decent choice, but we can’t help noticing that similar operation, Racine just a few doors up, is always just that bit busier.
