Located on the former site of the Blue Note jazz club & not as painfully trendy as some of its neighbours, Bluu pays homage to its past with jazzy music playing throughout the week. While the basement bar is better suited to large groups, the upstairs alcove area is the most sought-after space, the red lighting casting a mellow glow over the brick walls & retro furnishings. Good-value nibbles such as bread & olives for £2 go with a dozen bottled beers, prosecco by the glass & cocktails, while Sunday lunch isn’t bad either.
