Aurora

In summer, Aurora’s tiny courtyard garden is a pretty, grotto-like place for a romantic evening (assuming, of course, that you can get a table). In winter, the gothic black & red interior, with its cosy, candlelit vibe, comes into its own. It can get a bit cramped & the staff can be a little cool, but whatever the season the monthly menu hits the spot with dishes such as crab & avocado salad, dill pickle, mango & aioli, organic teriyaki salmon with jasmine rice & wasabi mayonnaise, or lamb chump with sweet potato mash, leeks & apricots. The wine list’s short but interesting & reasonably priced.
