Square Meal review of Trenta:

This tiny, intimate restaurant, with room for only 15 diners, is decorated like a stylish front room & owned by its chef & manager, who run it with visible passion & ensure cooking & service are both spot-on. Given Trenta’s size, it’s surprising to find a lengthy menu with a terrific variety of dishes. To start, pan-fried rabbit cutlets in aromatic breadcrumbs with roast baby tomatoes is a novel & flavoursome way to treat what can be a bland ingredient. Equally pleasing is a perfectly baked fillet of sea bream that lies beneath a crust of sliced potatoes, &, to finish, a rich & creamy zabaglione beautifully set off by the sharpness of an assortment of berries. Prices on both the all-Italian wine list & the menu are reasonable – two/three courses clock in at £19.50/£24.50 – &, although there’s a £2 cover charge, it’s hardly an imposition when the nibbles include moreish focaccia, slices of mini pizza & fresh, fleshy olives.
