Square Meal review of Alphabet:
Admirers of original Shoreditch style bar Cantaloupe should take a look at its Soho sister Alphabet. It’s aimed at the sort of person who attends Bestival, thinks Pete Doherty is a joke, & rates Cillian Murphy: in short, a hip twentysomething Londoner. They tend to drink their way through the bar’s Martini Mayhem selection (£6.90) – try a Tres Chic (Cointreau, creme de cacao, Baileys & double cream) or a La Femme Pinky (Pinky vodka, creme de peche, peach puree & lychee) – or order a second bottle of £15 Merlot. Fish finger sarnies are typical hangover-style fare, particularly good after a hard night partying in the downstairs DJ lounge, with its witty car seats & large-scale London A-Z pages as flooring.
