Restaurant
Located in deep-carpeted vaults beneath an 18th-century townhouse, the restaurant of Adam Street private members’ club opens its doors to non-members at lunchtime, when the softly lit dining room with its white linen & fresh flowers makes an ideal setting for civilised business get-togethers. A straight-talking menu touts Brit classics such as potted shrimps, fish pie, Cumberland sausage & mash or grilled beef rib with fat chips & horseradish béarnaise, alongside more international starters & small plates (think crispy squid & curried mussel tagliatelle). Comfort puds, homemade ice cream & Neal’s Yard cheeses complete the food offer, while the lengthy, respectable wine list is an added attraction. Smilingly efficient staff will ensure that the whole experience goes off without a hitch. Note: the £10 cover charge at lunchtime has been scrapped.
