The name has nothing to do with the roaring 1920s, so those expecting Charleston razzmatazz should look elsewhere – this 19:20 is a hip & happening venue on two floors, where Clerkenwell’s young things congregate to play games & sip cocktails. With four American pool tables & a 20-metre, street-art mural, it might prove a bit of a shock for those on the far side of 30, but the expansive range of short & long cocktails offers fair value for the likes of hazelito (Havana Club Especial & Frangelico muddled with limes & mint) or melon heaven (Cedar Nut vodka, melon schnapps, basil & cucumber topped with soda). Food runs to Aberdeen Angus burgers, ciabattas, ‘big bowl’ salads & a few platters. If you really want to go wild, party hard in the ‘padded cell’ basement lounge (straitjacket not included).
