Jack Hawkins, Ian Carmichael & assorted Ladykillers stare down in monochrome from the walls of this prime Fuller’s boozer, which celebrates stars of the nearby Ealing film studios. In the weathered old bar, grizzled regulars sample the full range of Chiswick-brewed ales, perhaps seated at antediluvian wooden settles. Further back, in a quieter, wood-panelled area, errant workers tap at their laptops, while others tuck into wholesome food ranging from sharing platters to Pieminister pies & hearty full meals – a three-courser here could start with calamari, continue with wild mushroom & thyme risotto or slow-roasted belly pork with sweet potato mash, & end with toffee apple pie. Out back is a large enclosed terrace where you can sup a pint of Chiswick while discussing the relative merits of Alec Guinness & Peter Sellers.
