A subterranean homage to Belgian brewing, with a drinks list as long as your arm & a menu that uses beer at the drop of a hat, Brouge might have become a haven for beer anoraks. Due to the enthusiasm of the front of house, however, combined with the ability of kitchen staff, it’s a comfortable, easy-going place. Customers tend to be boys & girls who work in Richmond, out for a drink & a bite to eat at the end of the day. Moules (in season) feature heavily on the menu, which also revels in stoemp (Belgian mash), but there are plenty of bistro classics too, albeit with a Belgian twist. Portions are such that no-one will leave hungry. Also at The Old Goat, 241 Hampton Road, TW2 5NG.
