Although nothing will ever rival owner Ian Schrager’s legendary Studio 54 for decadence, his late lounge-cum-nightclub, the Light Bar, is the sort of place where a supermodel in a floaty Matthew Williamson dress will be accessorised by the designer himself. An offshoot of fusion restaurant Asia de Cuba, it is tricked out with coloured lights, cosy niches & walls hung with photos of grimacing faces. Call in advance to get on the guest list, & order snow-kitten martini, pinky melon or lychee & elderflower Collins; otherwise watch as the pretty things dangle flutes of lemon meringue Champagne or cracked strawberry bellini from their fine-boned wrists. Trendy bites are served late into the night, so toy with tempura shrimps, mini Wagyu sliders or butterscotch-sauce doughnuts. Now, that is decadent.
