It may not be Fulham’s premier foodie destination, but with its reasonably priced menu, affable staff & lively evening scene, The Hurlingham certainly keeps apace with its local gastropub competitors. The dining room’s eclectic, ‘student digs’ style is best enjoyed on Sundays, when the prospect of a cracking roast makes it an enviable spot. During the rest of the week, the menu might turn up dishes such as roast duck leg with sweet-potato mash & cherry jus or pan-fried sea bass with marsh samphire & a clam & white wine sauce, all for under £12. After that, get stuck into a sticky toffee pudding – then head to the bar, grab a pint of IPA & join the boozing crowds.
