Already an award-winning brand in France, Big Fernard is bringing its self-titled ‘hamburgés’ to the capital with the launch of an outlet in Bloomsbury. The chain is famed for its modish, high-end take on the burger theme – an approach noted for its carefully sourced ingredients, including unpasteurised French cheeses. If the original ‘l’atelier de hamburgé’ is anything to go by, Londoners can expect a range of different burgers including lamb, veal, chicken and veggie versions with toppings including semi-dried tomatoes, onion confit, fresh herbs and bespoke sauces – in addition to cheeses such as Raclette or Tomme de Savoie. Big Fernand also offers ‘build your own’ options, plus desserts such as cheesecake or apple tart.
