‘Think.Eat.Drink’ is the motto at T.E.D – a new all-day eatery near King’s Cross station that is putting its money on ethical sourcing, sustainability and eco-friendly design. Reclaimed tiles, salvaged timbers, re-used stained glass windows and a lava-topped bar define proceedings in the elegant, spacious dining room, which also features a counter display of salads, breads and cakes. Breakfast brings ‘power smoothies’, juices, pastries and the like, while lunch offers cold dishes from the counter, plus British charcuterie and cured fish. In the evening, expect more ambitious, creative fare ranging from pan-fried fillet of sea bream with cucumber, sesame, soft fennel and herb dressing or marinated Scottish beef fillet with roasted red pepper, salsa verde and broccoli to pearl barley risotto with porcini and truffled herb mascarpone. Wines, spirits and cocktails also follow the green code.
