Not content with running one of London’s most redoubtable wine bars, the family behind Gordon’s on the same street have branched out with an all-day café and eatery just a few doors away from their legendary subterranean drinking den. The new venture keeps it close to home, with daughters Sophie and Rose running the kitchen and front-of-house respectively, and design input from father Tom (his mother, Wendy, still reigns supreme in the original wine bar). Expect an informal all-day menu with a seasonal accent – kicking off with breakfasts and also encompassing a host of takeaway salads, cakes and pastries. The display counter at the front morphs into a seated bar in the evening, when table service is also be available.
