Square Meal Review of La Mancha ?

Having occupied a site on Putney High Street for more than 20 years, La Mancha has moved lock, stock and Don Quixote sculpture to Chiswick – although the new all-day offer is much as before. The Don’s cast-iron figurine still hangs on the wall and looms over proceedings, along with ‘tilting windmill’ motifs inspired by the La Mancha region of Spain (as well as the famous novel), while the menu mixes tapas staples with big pans of paella and zarzuela. Content yourself with traditional morcilla de burgos, albondigas and mojama (carpaccio of air-dried tuna), or fill up with a bigger plate of slow-cooked crispy pork belly and apple sauce. Alternatively, pitch up at the bar for a glass of cava and some nibbles, or pick your way through the reasonably priced list of Spanish and international wines.

  1. Chiswick is not a place I usually frequent. An exclusive dinner invite transported me to the heart of Chiswick high street right next door to Franco Manco pizzeria. Do not get confused by the two, they are completely different establishments. La Mancha instantly brings a homely feel. Greeted by the friendly staff, the restaurant is family run and they will welcome you with open arms. We had a great selection of good-sized tapas to share, starting with olives. One of the biggest types I’ve seen, almost the size of quail eggs in a rich dark grass green...

The Hedonist :: La Mancha – Review

La Mancha opened about six months ago on that restaurant-laden stretch of Chiswick High Road that provides nourishment for those hungry media, banking and legal types that can afford the local house prices. The restaurant had a past life provided the inhabitants of Putney with their tapas fix for over twenty years; fortunately for the Chiswickians they have moved borough into an attractive and comfortable space with artwork reflecting the windmill charging Don. The first thing to do before eating tapas is order some sherry...

ilovecakeandtea :: Review of La Mancha

I recently visited La Mancha, a local family run tapas and cava restaurant in leafy Chiswick. The bistro style diner is headed by Salvatore Cricchio who wanted to create a vibrant yet homely restaurant, bringing the flavours and culture of his beloved Spain to London. La Mancha unveiled their new tasting menu comprising of 12 tapas dishes from all over Spain. The menu was extensive and had a fantastic mix of seafood, vegetarian and meat options...

The Cutlery Chronicles :: la mancha, chiswick - review

Whilst La Mancha might be a relatively new kid on this particular block, it was previously located on Putney High Street where it fed local patrons for more than 20 years. Proprietor, Mr Salvatore, upped sticks and re-located to this smaller and more manageable (but still substantial) site in the past year. With a south-facing bi-fold glass shop front allowing the unobstructed flooding of natural light, al fresco seating fully occupied at the first hint of sunshine, gentle Spanish guitars playing in the background and Spanish diners in the full flow of conversation to the right of me, it could almost have been Seville...
